2024 Badger State USA Cycling Junior MTB Championship Race
A USA Cycling license is only required for the Championship races. The beginner race and adventure races do NOT require any license to participate. You only pay the race entry fee!
USA Cycling Info
The Wisconsin State Junior MTB Championship is a USA Cycling sanctioned event and a license is required if you want to participate in the Championship race. Have no fear though, if you don’t have a license, there are other races you can participate in, but winning will earn you the title of that race's winner…not a state champion. You can purchase a USA Cycling annual junior license if you want a chance to be crowned WI State Champion. The license is then good for 365 days from purchase so it would carry into the 2025 season.
A junior's annual license is $40 in 2024.
WI State Champion eligibility:
-
Only WI State residents are eligible to be crowned USA Cycling WI State Champions
-
An annual USA Cycling license is required
-
A separate podium will be done to acknowledge the finishes of all top 5 competitors in each division

For example; if an Illinois resident wins a State Championship category, they will be awarded and recognized as 1st place. For the WI State Championship podium however, the next highest placing WI resident will be acknowledged as the WI State Champion for that category.

Course Information
-
The championship course will be very similar to the course used in past PRO XCT races. This will be one of the hardest courses you have raced on. It will include parts of the trails at Nordic that haven’t been part of a race course in almost 10 years!
-
In an effort to keep lap counts higher and more opportunities to cheer on the athletes, the championship lap for the 6-12 year old groups will be a modified version of the Championship blue course.
-
The championship girl course will include an additional prologue lap to help equal race time between the boys and girls.
-
The course for the Challenge races will include a lot of the fun technical sessions of Nordic that racers have come to love but will leave out some of the more difficult climbs and advanced technical sections.
-
The beginner course will be an easier lap around the base of the hill with minimal climbing.
-
The “pines” section will not be used on any race course
Camping
-
Camping will be allowed Friday and Saturday night. More details to follow.
